Surviving being kidnapped.

The first thing you want to do when you do get kidnapped is to have your cell phone on. Dial 911 then keep it hidden and sound low that way they won't be able to hear if the 911 operator is talking. This way the police can follow the signal of the cell phone and follow it to where ever you are at. If you can't get to your cell phone try to remember sounds and sights so you know where you are being taken to. This way when you get a change to escape you can find your way to help. Always keep a small knife, a tazer, or some pepper spray on you to make it harder for them to take you in the first place. If you feel that they may want to kill you no matter what try to win their trust by doing exactly what they want. Because once you win their trust they will slip up eventually and then you will have a way to get help to you. Just remember also to remain calm at all times regardless of the situation that you are in. Kidnappers only kidnap because someone is not paying attention to their surroundings or they are by themselves. They also look for dark places so if you work at a place where during business hours you have to park far from the door then take the time and make sure that you walk with someone out to your car. If you are parked in different places ride in the one person car to your car. This way if any one is looking to snatch someone it makes it harder to do.

MRE's Meals Ready To Eat

MRE's are meals that are ready to eat. Yep, when you in a pinch and there is no place to get take out or if you haven't had any luck catching anything or trapping anything, you can always rely on your stash of MRE's. You did pack some MRE's didn't you? Or we're going to have to eat that bark off the tree. MRE's are meals that have been freeze dried or packaged to provide the minimum calories to exist in most situations which is about 1200 calories per meal. Once you open an MRE it can last about 21 days before, although unopened, they have a shelf life of about 3 years if kept between minus 60 degrees Fahrenheit(for a short period) and a maximum of 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

The average 1200 calorie MRE weighs in about 13 to 18 ounces depending on the menu choice and the water contained within the individual meal. In the photo above is an individual MRE of Roast Beef with vegetables, candy for desert, bread, a buttery spread, peanut butter and jelly, a powder mix like a sports drink, a plastic spoon as the only utensil, a flame less heater to warm your MRE, a package of water resistant matches, a towelette, salt, pepper, sugar, creamer, hot sauce, chewing gum and a napkin that doubles as toilet paper.

The only thing left to wonder about is what to do with the outer brown wrapping that comes with the MRE. I use the brown outer wrapping as a trash can of sorts, because at 240 lbs, I can eat two MRE's at one sitting, providing of course, I haven't bagged anything that is edible that day. That doesn't happen too often, but when it does, it sure is nice to have something to look forward to eat. I have a love or hate relationship with packaged foods, but I have to tell you, it sure beats lugging around 30 to 40 pounds of cooking gear and food items when you are in the field, mountains or jungle and your only mode of transportation are your feet! If you need MRE's for your next adventure, just click on the title to this posting and it will take you to where we buy our MRE's. Bon Appetit!

Taurus 24/7 Pro Pistol

This is the Taurus 24/7 Pro Pistol. Why do they call it
the 24/7? It is a workhorse of a pistol that is one of the
most reliable pistols on the market today. When you have
to use it, you can bet your life on its readiness. It is available
in the 9mm caliber, 40 caliber or the whopping 45 caliber
variety.

For the 9mm caliber you can load 18 bullets in the clip and one in the chamber. The 40 caliber has 15 rounds in the clip and one in the chamber. For the 45 caliber there is 12 rounds in the clip and one in the chamber. You decide how much fire power you need and go with what suits you.

Something that is unusual for a pistol are two locks. The Taurus 24/7 Pro Pistol comes with an actual key lock that is embedded with the gun. On the other side of the key lock is a chamber lock that prevents the pistol from accepting any rounds in the chamber. No round in the chamber means no firing the weapon by mistake. By chance if there is a round in the chamber and the chamber lock is engaged, the bullet won't be allowed to fire due to the inaction of the firing pin.
When you need to fire the Taurus 24/7 it won't let you down. It was built to fire and fire with minimal maintenance. Just a couple of drops of BreakFree Oil and you're back in business and the fun never stops.

The Taurus 24/7 Pro Pistol is one of the most comfortable handguns that I've owned and I've owned a lot of them. The way that the grips were made and the finger molds help to prevent a sweaty hand and therefore little slippage. The grips are designed to allow air to flow around your fingers and that keeps your hands cool and dry instead of wet and sticky. When you are 6 foot tall and 240 lbs and firing more than a hundred rounds a session, the adrenaline that starts flowing is beyond anything you can imagine. The pistol grip is made of a molded plastic with a neoprene grips. The latest and the greatest breakthrough in some time, that should be on every make and model pistol made. It makes your hand feel as if you're shaking hands with an old friend that you haven't seen in awhile. Sure feels comfortable to me! You can probably buy the Taurus 24/7 Pro Pistol from your local gun dealer, but before you buy it, see if your local gun shop will let you fire it at their range and you tell me if that ain't one piece of fine machinery.

P.S., Stock up lots and lots of bullets and targets cause you're not going to want to stop once you get started!
